Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, non-invasive form of therapy that focuses on the craniosacral system, which consists of the membranes, bones, and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. The therapy is based on the idea that the movement of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), which cushions the brain and spinal cord, has a subtle rhythmic pulse that can be felt and influenced by a trained therapist.
During a session, I will use light touch to assess and release tension or restrictions in the craniosacral system. This is believed to help improve the flow of CSF, enhance the body's natural healing abilities, and restore balance to the nervous system.
CST is commonly used to address conditions such as:
headaches
chronic pain
stress
anxiety
It can also help with musculoskeletal issues, TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder), and recovery from trauma. Many people report feeling deeply relaxed during and after treatment, with some experiencing relief from both physical and emotional tension.
